About the 36th Launceston Steam & Vintage Engine Rally
For generations, the county of Cornwall in Southwestern England was thought of like its own country, called Kernow. These days, at the end of May each spring, it is thought of as the home to the Launceston Steam and Vintage Engine rally.
This spectacular 3-day event grew so much over the years that it was moved to the present location in Five Lanes. Bring your dog on a lead and spend all 3-days exploring steam-powered machines, classic, custom, and antique automobiles, motorcycles, and tractors. Stay for the daily tractor pulls, dance-off contests, and fairground rides.
Live music, plenty of foods to eat, and craft booths will fill the weekend with excitement and interest. The kids can participate in their own treasure hunt throughout the fairgrounds and meet the rally mascot, Dexter.
The Launceston Vintage Steam Rally is organised by a dedicated team of volunteers that work hard throughout the year to put together this exciting rally. Proceeds raised go to a variety of charities each year.
Entry To The Rally
Entry to the rally is £7 per adult, £5 for children 5-16, or get a family ticket for £20. Free parking onsite, baby-changing areas, and fully accessible for disabled guests.
Somewhere to Stay in Cornwall
Camping is available onsite for a mere £5 a day. Arrive as early as Thursday and stay through a long weekend until Tuesday morning. Use the rally site as your jumping-off point to see the Cornwall area as well as catch the Steam and Vintage Engine Rally. Or for a one-of-a-kind camping experience, try Ekopods in Saint Clether, offering specialized yurt-like tents or custom event tents. Train service is available in Cornwall County, however, no stations are particularly near the rally site. Ground transportation would need to be arranged upon arrival.
Other Things To Do Around Launceston
