About the Grand Henham Steam Rally

The event has been cancelled by the organisers.

Every year, hordes of people from all around the globe, of all ages and sizes, gather at the Grand Henham Steam Rally. In the fine fields of Henham Park, every year, memories are made, laughs are had, and knowledge is passed from decade to decade and from generation to generation at the Grand Henham Steam Rally.

The day is filled with various attractions from extreme stunts performed by the 'xtreme stunt team', take a trip around the fields in a carriage pulled by a trained working horse or get behind the wheel of some of the most beautiful steam machines and take them for a ride! An attraction which has been brought back by popular demand.

In addition, this year is going to be more than just an appraisal and preservation of steam engines. In addition to the attractions above they’re also introducing Lowestoft dog agility display team and team spectrum. Two events you will not want to miss out on!

Grand Henham Steam Rally

Originally the event was held at Lower Green Farm, Scotterley where the original steam fair was hosted and organised by Len Murray. However, these events lacked space due to the overwhelming demand for the rally and thanks to the 4th Earl of Stradbroke the event has since moved into the Henham Park where it is hosted annually. The main organisations involved with running the Rally are the Parochial Church Councils of Wangford-cum-Henham, Uggeshall & Sotherton; Wangford Community Council and Southwold (Sole Bay) Lions Club.

Entry To The Rally

The event usually takes place around September every year. Typically gates open early morning however it is yet to be confirmed about opening times this year. Ticket prices range from £12 for adults, £3 pounds for kids between 14 - 8 years old and then kids under 8 get to go free.

Somewhere to Stay in Suffolk

Furthermore, they offer camping on site for you stargazers who hate hotels. Tickets are often more expensive if you do decide to go camping and vary from year to year. Usually within the price range of £50. However, if you book early, you could just get the early bird prices. If you prefer to stay away from the creepy crawlies, make sure to check out The Bay Tree House which is typically about a 5-minute drive from the rally.

Getting To Henham Park

If you are driving by car, the quickest way to the venue is taking the A47 and coming off the exit onto Weston Road, then following the road straight down and taking a right at Blyford Road. Follow that road up and then take the second left onto Henham road then the rally is at the bottom of that road. Make sure to have Google Maps at the ready if things go south.

Other Things To Do Around Beccles

If you’re looking for other things to do around the area, make sure to check out; pleasure wood hills family theme park, Lowestoft maritime museum, and the south pier family entertainment centre.
