About the Autumn Diesel Gala
Kidderminster Town Station is located in the Worcestershire town of Kidderminster, just north of Worcester and to the south-east of Birmingham.
The three-day annual autumn event showcases Seven Valley Railway’s resident diesel locomotives and provides visitors with a chance to ride these historic engineering marvels.
The home locos include the diesel giants Atlantic Conveyor, Ark Royal, Greyhound, Defiance, and Western Champion.
Severn Valley Railway
The Severn Valley Railway is a partly voluntary organisation dedicated to the restoration, repair, reconstruction, and running of the historic locomotives, rolling stock and railway buildings on the Kidderminster, Worcester, and Bridgnorth train line in Shropshire. The organisation is always on the lookout for new members and volunteers to join their enthusiastic staff. Check out their official website for more information.

Somewhere to Stay in Worcestershire
There are many hotels and bed and breakfasts located in and around Kidderminster. The closest being Victoria House and Colingdale Hotel less than two minutes drive from the event. It is a little late in the season for under canvas camping however there are caravan sites in the Kidderminster area.
Getting To Kidderminster Town Station
Getting to Kidderminster by car is simple. Follow the signs to Kidderminster from Birmingham, Worcester or Shrewsbury, and head into the town centre using St Mary’s Ringway (A451) and at the Dunelm roundabout head east on the A448 following the signs east to Bromsgrove, the Station, and Seven Valley Railway until you reach the railway.
Other Things To Do Around Kidderminster
If you have a little bit of extra time during or after the event why not visit Kidderminster’s Carpet Museum on Green Street which showcases and exhibits the town’s industrial history. If you’re interested in something a little more subdued head west to the Habberley Valley Nature Reserve or the Elizabethan Estate at Harlington Hall to the east.
The Severn Valley Railway is open throughout the year and offers a multitude of locomotive events and experiences. See their website for a full list of what’s going on this year.
