About the Ffestiniog Railway Victorian Weekend
The Ffestiniog Railway’s Harbour Station is situated in the north-west corner of the wide opening of the Glaslyn River, in Porthmadog, Gwynedd, North Wales. The Harbour Station is a midway point between Blainau Ffestiniog and Caernarvon.
Each year the railway celebrates the charms and engineering of the Victorian era with its nostalgic weekend.
During the weekend the historic Harbour Station is transformed back in time, as staff and visitors dress up in Victorian costumes, and reminisce the golden age of engineering. Events begin on Friday and continue until Sunday. Trains will be running, and the station car park will be packed with traders selling locally produced food and gift items.
The Ffestiniog Railway Society was established in the late 1960s and has since improved many aspects of the historic railway line. The society continue to run the line through fundraising, donations, membership plans, and a team of dedicated volunteers. The Ffestiniog Railway Society headquarters are located in Harbour Station and are always on the lookout for keen supporters.
Entry To The Event
The Victorian weekend activities begin at 9.45am on Friday. All-day parking is available in the harbour station car park. Online booking, tickets, and timetables are available at the festrail official website. Advance booking is available.
